ERIC J. ARMSTRONG

POSTDOCTORAL SCHOLAR, CORNELL UNIVERSITY

Eric Armstrong is a postdoctoral researcher at the Cornell Institute of Host-Microbe Interactions and Disease (CIHMID), where he uses genomic and physiological approaches to investigate ecological and functional diversity of reef-building marine holobionts. His research is broadly centered around the field of environmental physiology, and he is particularly interested in the molecular and cellular underpinnings of marine photosymbioses and responses to global change stressors. He takes an integrative approach to investigate how changes in the abiotic environment (especially alterations in temperature and pH) influence physiological processes in marine organisms, both across taxa and across life history stages within a single species. He completed a PhD in Integrative Biology at the University of California, Berkeley.
